Quick hits from this weekend

- Already had a bunch of thoughts that got lost because I didn't write them down when I had them. Oh well.

- Having seen Changeling (again) and Doubt this past weekend, I realized I really enjoy watching Angelina Jolie and Amy Adams. Jolie's easy to hate on, with her adopting half of the kids from the continent of Africa and all, but still I think she sinks into her characters well. I was reading some critic that said her star power hurt the film, but I really felt like I was watching the real Christine Collins on screen, not Jolie as Collins.

As for Adams, what can I say. She makes a hot nun. Kidding (mostly), but the first thing I saw her in was Catch Me if You Can but I didn't really know it was her, so the first thing I really saw her in was Enchanted and I was really impressed with her acting and singing in that film. Then Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day and now this, she's definitely one of my favs now.

- Flying back to Tempe tomorrow night. Kind of ready, kind of not. School's nice and all, but there's definitely something to be said for chilling at home without homework.

- Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl. Obviously underdogs, but I would warn against sleeping on them.

- I joined our school paper and my first article is due on Tuesday. I'm pretty nervous, especially since I haven't written for a while and I have never written an album review (which is what I'm doing) before, but still, it should be interesting to see the final result.

Notes from UFC 93:
- Impressed with: John Hathaway, Dennis Siver, Martin Kampmann
- Disappointed in: Shogun Rua, Rousimar Palhares, Denis Kang, the judges
- Hopeful: that Dana White finds a way to sign Alistair Overeem and Semmy Schilt

- Please please please bring back Pushing Daisies. I really think it was one of the funniest shows on television during its run, and I'll never get tired of the antics of its cast. Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Kristin Chenoweth, Chi McBride, and not to mention Swoosie Kurtz and Ellen Greene as well as the great guest stars they bring.

- Freaking stoked for Watchmen. Just reread it this past week and the commercials shown during the NFL playoffs got me pumped. It should be a sick movie just from what we've seen so far. Dr. Manhattan looks like spot-on, the Comedian looks like a killer, and Malin Akerman looks hot as Silk Spectre II. 03-06-09 can't come soon enough.

- I seem to be a much better prognosticator on MMAPlayground compared to ESPN's Streak for the Cash. 246-139 compared to 7-9-0 with a long streak of 2. That just won't do.
